I made this today!!
I used probably double the dates (I soaked extra thinking it would barely make a few servings so just threw it all in).
IT WAS INCREDIBLE. And especially being so rich and delicious – you don’t even need that much to feel full (and seriously, I can eat a birthday cake if you put it in front of me).
Probably the only changes I’d make is 1/2 a cup of cacao (because it’s already strong) and I guess depending on how rich you want the chocolate you use less agave – if I use less cacao I’ll settle for a 1/4 cup of agave
And I used soy milk instead – and it still tasted great.
First time I’ve tried almond butter and that stuff is friggen addictive.
BUT REALLY – throw it all in the blender and a standard dessert serving filled up 7 people and I still have alittle leftover.
I guess if you don’t want to go to the health food store/section for any of this stuff, you could just substitute cocoa for cacao; peanut butter for almond butter; soy/full cream for almond milk; honey for agave; BUT KEEP THE DATES, they’re awesome.
THANKS JOEY! lol first time on your site yesterday and now fully trust you after one recipe and a long read last night on your blog. Keep going, you’re motivating me to change my life.
